Depression undoubtedly has created several problems for everyone dealing with it, be it the common people or celebrities. A great many Korean pop stars have lost their lives, owing to depression. People think that celebrities have everything. They have got every reason to stay healthy and happy. But, what people do not realize is the darkness behind the glowing faces.

When it comes to the lives of the Korean pop stars, they have also faced criticism and hate on a regular basis. Not many celebrities are able to deal with the hate they receive. Thus, they get depressed. Also, there are a lot of other factors due to which these celebs suffer from depression.

Apart from that, the negative comments and trolling all over the internet do affect the lives of celebrities. So, you should think twice while commenting on anything about anyone.

Without further ado, let’s have a look at the K-Pop celebs who committed suicides as they were unable to deal with the depression.

Lee Seo-hyun

Lee Seo-hyun was the main singer of the popular pop star group known as M. Street. He suffered a lot due to the financial break-down in South Korea in 2008. He invested a huge amount of money in stocks. Plus, he also invested the money of his friends. Unfortunately, he lost everything due to the financial setback.

According to the reports, he was under immense pressure to pay the money back that he took from his friends. So, he decided to take his own life by hanging himself in a recording studio. He was only 30 years old at that time.

Lee Hye-Ryeon aka U; Nee

U; Nee was a multi-talented personality who could sing, dance, perform and rap really well. She released her first single in 2003 and revolutionized the K-Pop scene of that time. According to the reports, it was told that U; Nee was extremely sensitive and was not able to take criticism well. She suffered from depression but never revealed it in front of her family. Her friends told the police that she hid her dealings with depression from her family and suffered alone.

Before her death, she wrote on her website:

“I feel everything is empty. I am again walking down a path to reach a destination that I don’t know.”

She hung herself in 2007 in her own home in Seo-gu as she was no more able to handle the negativity. She was only 25 at the time of her death.

Ahn So Jin

Ahn So Jin never appeared with a K-Pop group or as a soloist. But, she was a hopeful contender to become a part of the famous girl group known as KARA. However, she lost to another contender and was appointed as a ‘Trainee’. She was being trained to become a part of another girl group known as April.

Nonetheless, something went wrong and she lost her contract due to which she became depressed and jumped from the 10th floor of her apartment, taking her own life. She was all set to become a star in the near future but her depression became so excruciating that she decided to kill herself.

She was 22 years of age at that time.
